MARIE JACKSON, Engineering Science: "Being part of the NJIT family is the perfect fit for my needs as a student.  When I was reading through packets of information on many colleges during high school I knew I had to attend a university that would not encumber my family’s personal life with costs since I am the oldest of four children. I knew I wanted to attend school in New Jersey so that if I decided to stay on campus, I would have the opportunity to see my family often. In addition, I wanted to be in an environment that would foster my work ethic. This is exactly what New Jersey Institute of Technology offered me. Today I appreciate just how lucky I am to be a part of this program.  Outsiders look and see a group of people who work hard, have a strong sense of worth as students, and are passionate participants among the NJIT population.  As an insider I recognize New Jersey Institute of Technology promotes a sense of community. You are surrounded by a group of people who have a similar set of goals; those who aren’t afraid to take the difficult courses, those who are ready to earn higher degrees in education, and are prepared to excel in all walks of life."
