Assistant Director of Leadership and Professional Development
Ms. Alicia Feghhi has served as Assistant Director of Leadership and Professional Development for the Albert Dorman Honors College since 2015.
Ms. Feghhi has been administering a student-centered approach in higher education for the past seven years. Having worked in Newark, she embraces cultural diversity. A supporter of the city's revitalization efforts, Ms. Feghhi facilitates community engagement with Honors students and other members of the university to promote philanthropy at NJIT as advisor of DoSomething NJIT, a university-wide service club.
A motivating and engaging professional with a passion for civic engagement, she has established partnerships with organizations such as the New Jersey Dental Association, local schools and other non-profit entities in Newark. Additionally, she serves as advisor of Honors Student Council and manages Leaders 4 Higher, a leadership development-based curriculum in which a select group of Honors students are paired with a mentor.
Prior to joining NJIT, Ms. Feghhi worked at Rutgers University-Newark in the areas of career development, pre-health advising, and project coordination. She holds a Master's in Counseling with a concentration in student affairs/higher education, and a Bachelor's in Communication Studies with a specialization in public relations, in addition to a minor in journalism from Montclair State University (MSU). To supplement her interest in mental sport performance training and her own athletic pursuits as a competitive runner, Ms. Feghhi obtained a Certificate in Sport and Exercise Psychology through Seton Hall University. Currently, she is working toward her doctorate in Urban Systems with a concentration in Urban Health through the joint program with NJIT and the Rutgers School of Nursing.
