Reporting and Communication

Honors Students are required to
  1. Maintain an NJIT email address in order to receive communication from the Honors office, and
  2. Fill out an Annual Survey.

Students failing to do either will have their registration blocked.

Email

Email messages are sent only to your NJIT email address, but you can forward your NJIT email to another account.  To learn how to forward email to another account, go to http://ist.njit.edu/support/mailhost/mailhost7.php. When you set this option, have the NJIT email system permanently delete messages from your inbox. If you are not having messages forwarded, remember to empty your NJIT email inbox regularly. DELETING MESSAGES DOES NOT REMOVE THEM - YOU MUST EMPTY YOUR TRASH AND/OR DELETED ITEMS FOLDER. And remember that commercial email services may place severe limits on your mailbox size, so check and empty your inbox frequently. When the Honors College cannot send you a message because your inbox is full, we will place a hold on your registration. When this happens, empty your inbox and send a message to honors@njit.edu.

Annual Survey

The Annual Survey is filled out on a web page. A notice is sent to every Honors student in early April giving the location of the page and login instructions. This survey collects only information that is not available to us from other sources, including:

  1. minor/second major courses you are now taking
  2. service activities for the year
  3. research, projects, internships, and the like

A registration hold is placed on your account for failing to complete the survey by the given deadline.
