Albert Dorman Honors College

The Albert Dorman Honors College exists to help the brightest students achieve their full potential. Your classmates will be top students among all majors who want to share their time, enthusiasm, and talents.  Over 625 Honors students excel in Engineering, Architecture, Management, the Sciences and Liberal Arts, or Computing Sciences.

The NJIT Honors College offers a challenging educational experience that stimulates students to test their limits, a technology-rich education to foster a new generation of innovators and entrepreneurs, and a well-rounded education that emphasizes social consciousness and community service.

125 graduating Honors College students, friends, family and Honors staff attended the dinner on May 1.

Participants are selected on the basis of the quality of their work. Three Honors students were Showcase winners: Jillian Nguyen, Bin Lin, and Vivian Ozoka, all Biomedical Engineering Majors. Other participants were Ikemefuna Chukwuemeka Agbanusi, Mathematics; Rudina Bajrushi, Chemical Engineering; Ervin Beloni, PhD Student in Chemical Engineering and HC alumnus (2006); Ani Chintalapani, Biology; Matthew Hanna, Biology; Sidharth Kapoor, Biomedical Engineering; Gloria Portocarrero, Biomedical Engineering; and David E. Rodriguez, Computer Engineering and Applied Physics.

Seven Honors seniors were among twelve NJIT seniors who presented the results of their 2007-08 research with the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program.

After a doctor performed successful surgery on his sister, Nishant Vyas, now a senior in the Honors College, has applied to medical school. He, too, would one day like to be a doctor who could save children's lives. The Newark College of Engineering (NCE) has named him its Outstanding Senior in Biomedical Engineering this year.

Biren Bhatt (2005) was one of the brightest and most compassionated students ever to attend NJIT. He graduated in just three years with a perfect grade point average: a 4.0.

EVENTS

Over 130 graduating Honors students will wear yellow cords signifying their Honors degree, and will enter the hall as a group before joining their classmates by major.

Space is limited, so if you would like to sign up e-mail honors.njit.edu as soon as possible. Students are charged just $25, which includes all transportation, accommodations and meals. The purpose of the trip is to expose you to the federal policymaking process and to explore a range of professional fields in both the executive and legislative branches of our government that could provide career opportunities for you further down the road.
