NJIT College Bowl Team of Four Honors Students Places 2nd at Regional Quiz Bowl Tournament, February 2008
Four NJIT students, all members of the Albert Dorman Honors College, competed in the regional College Bowl tournament on February 22 and 23, 2008, at California University of Pennsylvania in California, PA, finishing the tournament ranked fifth in the combined regional tournament and ranked second in their region.  The four students are Freshman Civil Engineering major and team captain Vinay Varadarajan, Sophomore Biomedical Engineering major Ketan Gujurathi, Sophomore Mechanical Engineering major Greg Manning and Senior Mechanical Engineering major Robert Horvath.  Team captain Vinay Varadarajan placed 4th in overall point scoring during the tournament, in a 50-person field.  Greg Manning placed 10th in overall point scoring.

All of the NJIT students competed in the NJIT Campus Tournament in October 2007 and are part of NJIT's MVP team, made up from three different NJIT campus tournament teams.  The NJIT Campus Center hosts the campus tournaments annually.  NJIT Campus Center is part of the American Colleges and Unions International Region 3 and competes against colleges from New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, Delaware and the Philadelphia region. 

College Bowl is an academic quiz bowl that tests competitors’ knowledge about science, history, literature, current events and popular culture.  The season involves three tiers -- the Campus Program, the Regional Championships and the National Championship.
