Jennifer Q. To - Biology Senior
Jennifer is participating in a study of the effects of toxins and growth factors on the neurons of the brain, in an attempt to understand why autistic individuals have a larger number of certain types of neurons in their brains. She assists with the preparation of brain tissues for microscopic examination. Jennifer is working with Prof. Mill Jonakait in the Biology Department.
Jeremy George and Manga Williams John Ndive - Biomedical Engineering Seniors
Working together, theses two students are studying the problem of stability and falls in humans. They study the reasons why individuals fall, especially the elderly, and how we could detect and prevent falls. Their goal is to develop a working prototype which they refer to as a "postural stability sensor" that would be attached to the torso of an individual and alert the user to a possible instability.
These projects are funded by a grant to the Honors College from the Guidant Foundation.
