McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program, awards grants to institutions of higher education for projects designed to provide underrepresented students with effective preparation for doctoral study. The NJIT McNair Program is designed to help low-income and first-generation or underrepresented students majoring in science, engineering and mathematics (SEM) disciplines to complete their bachelor's degree, and continue on to enroll in postbaccalaureate degree programs, with the goal of obtaining doctoral degrees.

So far, two of these honors students have been accepted into doctoral programs: Bin Lin at Johns Hopkins University and Felix Mbuga at Stanford University.
