Honors Graduation
To be certified for Honors graduation, each student is required to fill out the Albert Dorman Honors College Senior Certification Form in their last semester by a deadline which is given in the previous link. Every attempt will be may to contact students during their last year to notify them of this requirement, but it is ultimately the student's responsibility to submit the form. (Also remember that you need to apply for graduation with the Registrar.) After submission of the form, the Associate Dean reviews each student's record and certifies those who have met the requirements, also notifying the registrar's office.

Completion of all Honors College requirements entitles you:

  1. to a diploma with the Honors College notation
  2. to a notation of Honors College on your final transcript
  3. to enter the commencement procession with other Honors students
  4. to wear the special Honors College sash at commencement
  5. to receive an Honors certificate of completion

There is a final review after all grades have been reported.

Students graduating in August or January

Anyone who expects to graduate in August or January may, if in good standing with the Honors College, participate in the preceding May commencement as an Honors student, as detailed above. If you wish to do so, contact the Associate Dean no later than January 31 and ask for a preliminary review. You will complete the Dorman Honors College Certification Form during your final semester at NJIT and will receive your Honors certificate and diploma when all requirements are completed. Alternatively, such students may participate in the May commencement following their graduation. In this case also, complete the Dorman Honors College Certification Form by the appropriate deadline. You must also apply for permission from the Dean of Students Office.

Accelerated Program Students

In some cases you may walk in the May ceremony after you finish your third year if you will have met all of your Honors requirements. Please see the requirements and procedures given HERE.
