Learning Beyond the Classroom

Beyond the Classroom

The Honors College offers its students several ways to learn outside of the classroom -- all of which expand upon their undergraduate educations.

Colloquia: Each semester, national known experts visit the college to lecture and talk to students about emerging trends in business, engineering and the sciences. Students are also invited to participate in tours including Washington, DC and visits to major corporations.

Study Abroad: Students have the chance to develop an international understanding by studying for a summer, a semester, or a full academic year in Europe or the Far East. Nothing broadens a student’s education more than international travel.

Research and Internships: Students conduct research in their fields with prominent NJIT professors. They also work as interns for Wall Street firms and major corporations, as well as university hospitals and government agencies.

Publish: Students have a chance to write or design the bi-annual Honors College Newsletter or the annual issue of the Honors College’s Technology Observer Magazine.
