Colloquia: Each semester, national known experts visit the college to lecture and talk to scholars about emerging trends in business, engineering and the sciences. Beyond lectures, scholars participate in study tours that span cultural, historic, and professional sites — from museums and theaters to corporations and natural reserves.
Study Abroad: Scholars have the chance to develop an international understanding by studying for a summer, a semester, or a full academic year in Europe or the Far East. Nothing broadens a scholar's education more than international travel.
Research and Internships: Scholars conduct research in their fields with prominent NJIT professors. They also work as interns for Wall Street firms and major corporations, as well as university hospitals and government agencies.
Service to Campus and Community: Community service is a core part of the Dorman Honors experience. Scholars are required to complete at least 15 hours of service to NJIT and 15 hours of service to the Newark community (or approved off-campus opportunities) each semester, gaining hands-on experience in leadership, collaboration, and civic engagement.
