In preparation for the interconnected world of the 21st century, the Global Studies track provides scholars with interdisciplinary, national, and international opportunities to become creative problem-solvers in a global context. Honors courses in this track introduce scholars to a broad range of historical and present-day cultures from around the world. In addition to coursework and co-curricular opportunities, this track includes a study abroad component.
Global Studies Honors Track Coursework
Three (3) global studies-related, area studies (non-US), or foreign language courses
One (1) research methodology honors course
Three (3) elective honors courses
One (1) HSS capstone global studies-related course
One (1) major capstone course
NJIT honors course with faculty-led study abroad component (short or long-term)
Semester, summer or winter abroad through NJIT exchange partner, including Global E3 and ISEP
Semester, summer or winter abroad through NJIT approved 3rd party provider
Pre-approved short-term study abroad experiences
Global Studies Colloquium (at least one per semester)
Appropriate community service
Optional approved milestone experience: research, service abroad (such as Engineers without Borders, GlobeMed, etc.), co-ops, and internships
