Dorman Scholars who are in the multidisciplinary track must take a total of 11 Honors courses in order to graduate with an Honors College diploma (exception: students enrolled in the Hillier College of Architecture and Design (HCAD) must complete 8 courses; students who transfer into the Honors College will need to complete 7 honors courses and 6 for HCAD).

Components of the Multidisciplinary Honors Track:

  • Coursework
    • Eight honors courses within major, minor, general education (GER), milestone experiences or up to 3 graduate courses.
      • ENGL102 Honors is required for all Dorman Scholars as of Fall 2025 and applies here.
    • One honors 300- or 400-level History, Philosophy, Literature, English, or Science, Technology and Society (STS) course; or Honors MGMT390 / IE492
    • One honors HSS 400-level course* (numbered 403 - 408)
    • One honors major-specific Senior Design Capstone as per department curriculum. Scholars majoring in Architecture and other programs which do not have a designated honors major capstone course may need to enhance an appropriate upper-division or graduate course. Please consult your honors advisor.
  • Any two colloquia per semester
  • Appropriate community service (15 internal hours + 15 external hours)
  • Optional approved milestone experience: research, service abroad (such as Engineers without Borders, GlobeMed, etc.), co-ops, and internships*

    *This counts as a course reduction
