Associate Dean
Dr. Burcak Ozludil joined the Albert Dorman Honors College team in January 2019 as the Interim Associate Dean, and then became our Associate Dean in July 2019.
As Associate Dean, Dr. Ozludil is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of the College’s interdisciplinary curricula, student research and industry-based projects, support of faculty advisory committees, operational planning and annual reporting of student outcomes. She provides assistance in the administration of the college and ensures that the college systems are operational, clearly communicated, transparent, and effective.
Dr. Ozludil has a bachelor of architecture degree from Istanbul Mimar Sinan University, a master’s degree in history and theory of architecture from Yildiz Technical University, and a Ph.D. in Urban Systems jointly offered by NJIT and Rutgers University. As a scholar, her interdisciplinary research focuses on the intersection of human sciences and urban/architectural space and uses of digital tools in these fields. Her research received support from Social Science Research Council and Turkish Cultural Foundation.
In her research, Dr. Ozludil has been collaboratively developing a digital temporospatial analysis platform, entitled SpatioScholar, which has received recognition from New York City Digital Humanities group and an NJIT Seed Grant in 2017. Most recently she was awarded a Getty Foundation Fellowship for the “3D and (Geo)spatial Networks Summer Institute” (Venice, Italy, 2018-2019), for a collaborative project on the incorporation of agent-based modeling in the study of historical space and a grant from the International Istanbul Biennial for a collaborative space-based AI installation (2018).
