American Association of University Women (AAUW) Selected Professions Fellowship Program

(Undergraduate)

Selected Professions Fellowships are awarded to women who intend to pursue a full-time course of study at accredited U.S. institutions during the fellowship year in one of the following master’s programs: architecture, computer/information sciences, engineering, and mathematics/statistics.

 

AMGEN Scholars Program

(Undergraduate)

The AMGEN Scholars Program,  an undergraduate summer research program in science and biotechnology offers research opportunities at 24 host institutions for undergraduates from any four-year college or university in a given region. Undergraduate participants benefit from undertaking a research project under top faculty, being part of a cohort-based experience of seminars and networking events and taking part in a symposium in their respective region where they meet their peers, earn about biotechnology, and hear from leading scientists.

Banyan Impact Fellowship

(Undergraduate)

The American India Foundation Banyan Impact Fellowship is an immersive bi-national volunteer service program.  By facilitating exchange and collaboration between young professionals from India and the US, the program aims to shape the next generation of leaders committed to sustainable change and creating a lasting US-India relationship.

 

Boren Scholarship

(Undergraduate)

Boren Scholarships support US undergraduate students interested in studying less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to US interests, and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. The Brooke Owens Fellowship Program offers paid internships at leading aviation and space companies and organizations for passionate, exceptional women seeking their undergraduate degree.

Carnegie Endowment Junior Fellows Program

(Graduating Seniors)

The James C. Gaither Junior Fellows Program offers one-year fellowships to graduating seniors interested in working as research assistants to Carnegie's senior scholars.

 

Churchill Scholarship

(Graduate)

The Churchill Scholarship, created by friends of Winston Churchill, offers American citizens the chance to pursue graduate studies in the sciences, engineering, and mathematics at the University of Cambridge in the UK.

 

Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) and CLS Spark Programs

(Undergraduate)

The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program offers fully funded, immersive summer experiences for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to study languages deemed vital to national security, economic prosperity, and global engagement. CLS Spark, a virtual initiative for undergraduates, expands access to these critical languages through high-quality online instruction. Building on best practices developed during the pandemic, CLS Spark allows students to pursue language study even if their home institutions do not offer these opportunities.

Josephine De Karman Fellowship

(Final Year PhD Students)

The Josephine De Karman Fellowship provides financial support to exceptional students, from the following institutions: California Institute of Technology, University of California (Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz), University of Southern California, or Stanford University.

 

Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program

(Undergraduate)

The Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program (DDCSP) aims to diversify the conservation workforce by supporting undergraduate students of color in pursuing careers in environmental and conservation fields. Launched in 2013, the program also fosters dialogue around diversity and inclusion in these sectors.

FAO Schwarz Fellowship

(Graduating Seniors)

The FAO Schwarz Fellowship is an intensive, transformative two-year experience in the world of social impact. FAO Schwarz Fellows have always been highly motivated and passionate recent college graduates who are committed to social change and social justice leadership.

 

Freeman-Asia

(Undergraduate)

Freeman Awards for Study in Asia (Freeman-ASIA) provides scholarships for U.S. undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia. Funding can also include airfare, basic living costs, transportation and books. Freeman-ASIA accepts applications from U.S. citizens or permanent residents studying at the undergraduate level at a two-year or four-year college or university who demonstrate financial need to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia.

 

Fulbright Grant

(Graduating Seniors)

The Fulbright grants allow recent graduates to pursue international, individually-designed study or research projects including independent research, field work, university courses, or some combination of these.

(Undergraduates)

The Fulbright Canada-Mitacs Globalink Research Internship offers U.S. students the opportunity to conduct 10–12 weeks of advanced research in Canada across a wide range of academic disciplines. Participants are paired with university faculty, receive professional training, and engage in cultural, social, and recreational activities.

Fulbright UK Summer Institute

(Undergraduates)

The US-UK Fulbright Commission offers Summer Institutes for US citizens to travel to the UK on a three to six weeks academic and cultural program.

Gates Cambridge Scholarships

(Graduate)

Gates Cambridge Scholarships provide support for students wishing to pursue graduate studies and research in any subject offered at the University of Cambridge.

 

GEM Fellowship Program

(Graduate)

GEM offers MS and Ph.D. level students an outstanding opportunity and access to dozens of the top Engineering and Science firms and Universities in the nation. The GEM Fellowship was designed to focus on promoting opportunities for individuals to enter industry at the graduate level in areas such as research and development, product development, and other high level technical careers. GEM also offers exposure to a number of opportunities in academia.

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Study Scholarship

(Graduate)

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Study Scholarship allows graduating seniors to conduct one year of independent study to pursue a master's degree program at a German university.

 

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE)

(Undergraduate)

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) program allows undergraduate students in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Sciences, and Engineering to work with research groups, universities, and top research institutions across Germany for two to three months during the summer.

Global Health Corps U.S. Leadership Accelerator

GHC’s U.S. Leadership Accelerator identifies emerging public health leaders with a range of backgrounds and experiences and equips them with leadership training, coaching, networks, and resources to excel in their careers and advance health equity.

 

Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship

The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in education Foundation awards scholarships to college students who intend to pursue a research career in science, mathematics, and engineering.

Humanity in Action Summer Fellows

The Humanity in Action Summer Fellows Program enables groups of college students to explore different national histories of discrimination and resistance in locations such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Lyon, and Warsaw.

The Luce Scholars Program is a highly selective leadership development fellowship that provides emerging leaders with immersive, yearlong professional experiences in Asia. Designed to deepen understanding of Asian cultures and societies, the program equips Scholars with the skills and global perspective needed to address complex leadership challenges in an interconnected world.

Marshall Scholarships

(Graduate)

Named for general George C. Marshall, Marshall Scholarships support students pursuing graduate studies at a UK institution for either one or two years in any field of study.

 

Mitchell Scholarship

(Graduate)

The George J. Mitchell Scholarship supports one year of postgraduate study in any field field of study offered by institutions in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) is designed to inspire undergraduate students to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) through a unique research experience that supports the NIST mission.

(Undergraduate and Postbac Programs)

The NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP) offers competitive scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are committed to careers in in biomedical, behavioral, and social science health related research. The NIH Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) Fellowship program is a postbac program designed to provide advanced training and practical research experiences to investigators.

National Institutes of Health Oxford Cambridge Scholars Program

(Doctoral Studies)

The National Institutes of Health Oxford Cambridge Scholars Program supports students wishing to undertake a collaborative project in any area of biomedical research with two mentors: one at NIH and one at either Oxford or Cambridge.

 

National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP)

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) offers graduate fellowships every year, including additional wards for women in engineering and computer information science. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship

(Undergraduate)

The Hollings Scholarship Program offers undergraduates up to $9,500 per year for two years of study and includes a paid 10-week summer internship at a NOAA facility, with additional support for travel, housing, and conference participation. Scholars gain hands-on experience in NOAA mission areas and report that the program significantly shapes their academic and career paths.

New Jersey Sustainability Journalism Fellowship

(Professional and College Student Journalists)

The New Jersey Sustainability Journalism Fellowship equips and compensates New Jersey reporters for producing sustainability stories that are co-published or co-aired by their own newsroom and on the NJSR website. During the course of the fellowship, participants will be introduced to experts in environmental sustainability, and benefit from their expertise in various aspects of the field. The program provides motivated, passionate journalists with insights, new contacts, and myriad story ideas for the communities served by their newsrooms.

North American Language and Culture Assistants Program (NALCAP)

The North American Language and Culture Assistants Program (NALCAP) places U.S. college students and graduates in schools across Spain to support English language instruction while serving as cultural ambassadors. Participants receive a monthly stipend, health insurance, and the opportunity to immerse themselves in Spanish language and culture while fostering mutual understanding through educational exchange.

The Thomas R. Pickering Fellowship Program provides undergraduate and graduate students with financial support, mentoring, and professional development to prepare the academically and professionally for a career in the U.S. Department of State foreign Service, and is funded by the U.S. Department of State and administered by The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars.

 

Princeton in Asia Fellowship (PiA)

(Graduate)

Princeton in Asia (PiA) fellowships fellowships offer immersive, paid opportunities to live and work in Asia while contributing to local communities. Fellows are selected for their commitment to PiA’s mission of promoting mutual appreciation and cross-cultural understanding between the United States and Asia, and receive support from PiA, host organizations, and the broader PiA network.

 

Princeton in Latin America Fellowship (PiLA)

Princeton in Latin America (PiLA) fellowships provide early-career professionals with immersive, hands-on experiences at leading organizations across Latin America and the Caribbean. Fellows are selected for their commitment to PiLA’s mission of fostering mutual understanding and cross-cultural exchange between the United States and Latin America, while contributing meaningfully to their host communities.

 

Project Horseshoe Farm Commmunity Health Fellowship

(Graduate)

The Project Horseshoe Farm Community Health Fellowship is a post-graduate, yearlong service and leadership program based in Alabama and California. Fellows work closely with vulnerable populations through community-based health initiatives, gaining hands-on experience, mentorship, and a deeper understanding of community health, relational care, and collaborative leadership.

Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Fellowship

The Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Fellowship provides benefits towards a two-year Master's degree for students wishing to become Foreign Service Officers in the U.S. Department of State.

 

Rhodes Scholarships

The Rhodes Scholarship is a prestigious, fully funded postgraduate award that enables exceptional students from around the world to pursue full-time study at the University of Oxford. The Samvid Scholars program is a graduate scholarship program established by Samvid Ventures to support future leaders in graduate school. It provides up to $50,000 per year for two years of graduate study, along with leadership development programming and community support.

(Undergraduate)

The Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship for Public Service is a two-year leadership development and scholarship program for students committed to serving others. Sophomores are eligible to apply for this opportunity, which provides up to $50,000 in financial aid, a transformative work-travel experience, and access to a network of leaders and mentors to support impactful careers in public service.

The Whitaker Fellowship sends emerging leaders in U.S. biomedical engineering overseas to pursue self-designed career-advancing projects within the discipline, while promoting international scholarship and cooperation.
