Exceptional students currently at NJIT as well as those already admitted as transfer students to NJIT are invited to apply to the Dorman Honors College - both categories are considered transfers.
Students currently attending other colleges/universities may apply to the Dorman Honors College for either fall or spring admission. Students currently attending NJIT may apply to the Dorman Honors College for fall admission only.
Current NJIT first-year students should complete at least two semesters prior to submitting the application.
NOTE: Transfer admission to the Dorman Honors College is not open to students who have already completed a prior baccalaureate degree at another college/university or at NJIT.
Admission to the Dorman Honors College as a transfer student is extremely competitive and there is a special application process. Completed applications will be reviewed and decisions will only be made after the deadline date.

How to Apply
If you are transferring into NJIT from another institution, you must apply to the University via this link. On your application indicate your interest in the Honors college. Your acceptance to NJIT must be verified before your Albert Dorman Honors College transfer application can be reviewed.

Honors essay (max. 400 words) - It may be sent to honors@njit.edu and write Transfer Applicant Essay in the subject line.

Essay for Transfer Applicants: Write an essay in which you give a specific and definite plan for your Honors education at NJIT. Your essay must cover the following points: (1) any Honors courses you may have taken in your current institution and specific courses you plan to take at NJIT; (2) research, internships, or similar projects you have completed and those in which you specifically plan to participate; (3) service and other activities at your current college in which you have participated, mentioning specifically those you would like to continue or begin; and (4) your plans to undertake other educational opportunities such as a minor or second major. The essay should provide details about how membership in the Honors College will help you attain academic and professional excellence. This essay is a critical part of your application.
Students who have taken Honors courses at other Community Colleges will have these courses evaluated on an individual basis for Honors credit.
